How do I retain my GMS/GMS-T® designation?

All GMS/GMS-T® designees need to:

1. Complete 30 CE credits specific to mobility management/workforce mobility within your 3-year recertification period and not later than your renewal/expiration CE Credits are now tracked directly in the designees’ database account. All credits earned through a Worldwide ERC (WERC) event/webinar etc. are added automatically. Credits earned through external opportunities will need to be added manually. You can find the instructions on how to add CE Credits to your record by accessing the online Help Center.
2. Remit the GMS®/GMS-T® Recertification Renewal Fee no more than four months prior to the end of your 3-year recertification period in order to renew for a new 3-year cycle.

Please note that if you have your CRP designation, the CE credits can also be applied to that designation if they have been pre-approved.  Your GMS CE credits are not required to be pre-approved, but they must meet the criteria named below. 

What Counts Toward GMS®/GMS-T® CE Credits?

CE credits may be earned via different options:

1. Worldwide ERC®’s (WERC) global conferences, events, conference session recordings, webinars and/or online
2. External organizations’ conferences, webinars, and other educational opportunities that satisfy the approval

Approval Criteria for CE Opportunities

The content must be relevant to mobility issues and on an intermediate or advanced level. That is, the education must be at a level expected for a person with at least two years of mobility experience. Typically, if the content of the event relates to some aspect of the GMS®/GMS-T® training and adds to the person’s expertise within the mobility field, CE credit is approved
