Difference between CRP and GMS

A brief overview of the key differences

Certified Relocation Professional (CRP):

Note that our service provider memberships are company-held with a designated member to receive the benefits, while our PERC and Corporate Premier memberships are individually held: Become a Member (talenteverywhere.org)

  • Focuses on employee mobility within the United States.

  • Spring and (depending on demand) Fall testing windows.

  • Courses taken to retain this designation must be pre-approved courses (with your membership, you have access to recent webinars/events through the Learning Portal).

Global Mobility Specialist - Talent Management (GMS-T):
Note that there is no membership requirement, however the non-member fee is $1500, while the member fee is $1250.

  • Highlights global mobility and talent management

  • Complete 6 modules and take the exam in module 7 (note that after you begin a module, you have 6 months to complete each course within the module and begin the next one)

    • We suggest completing the entire program within 6 months
  • Courses taken to retain this designation do not need to be pre-approved courses, but they must meet these criteria:

The content must be relevant to global mobility issues and on an intermediate or advanced level. That is, the education must be at a level expected for a person with at least two years of global mobility experience. Typically, if the content of the event relates to some aspect of the GMS®/GMS-T® training and adds to the person’s expertise within the mobility field, CE credit is appropriate.

  • CRP credits can be applied to your GMS, you do not need to enter CE credits twice.
  • When inputting these CE credits into your record, you must be descriptive about the content of the event for it to be approved.
